2:00 pm

The Raffidy Dumitz Band and a small herd of wild Osses will be prowling the town – taking in The Edge of the World Bookshop, the Farmers on Causewayhead and the St John’s Hall market.
There will be Morris dancers and Town Criers and everyone gearing up for the evening’s festivities.

3:40 pm

Communal singing of traditional Cornish Carols outside the Farmers at the top of Cuasewayhead.

4:22 pm

The Sundowner Parade, led by the Mock Mayor of Penzance, Raffidy and Tros an Treys, will leave the top of Causewayhead heading down to Greenmarket, with a few riotous diversions en route.

4:45 pm

Tros and Treys will lead traditional Cornish dancing in the Greenmarket, outside the White Lion.

5:40 pm

The Summoning of the Sun Ceremony and Play
will happen in Market Place, outside Lloyd’s Bank.

6:00 pm

The Progress of the Sun
From Greenmarket, Raffidy Dumitz and Old Ned and the fire-dancers will lead the parade carrying The Sun Resplendent up Causewayhead and on to The Princess May Recreation Ground.

6:45 pm

The Burning of the Sun
and a celebratory dance around the fire.

8:00 pm

The Revels officially begin.
With the Cornmarket Revellers holding a formal meeting in Market Place – followed by an exploration and evaluation of the local hostelries.
The ‘Gyptians will conjure the Gods of Ancient Egypt outside the Egyptian House in Chapel Street.
And much silliness will ensue up and down between Greenmarket and St Mary’s Church, led by our amazing Montol Guilds.
Including more Cornish Carols outside the Union at 9:00 pm.

9:30 pm

Everyone still on their feet will gather in Greenmarket to claim their free flaming torch and join Tas Nadelik to bring the Mock (our Yule Log) down Chapel Street to the sea.

10:30 pm

On the Triangle, by the Jubilee Pool, we will perform the Chalking of the Mock Ceremony.

To be followed by dancing and a hopefully a lovely surprise.
