OK Montol
Where do I start?
Every witch from Lands End to Redruth must have spelled their hearts out.
We were up at the Rec in the morning and it was like being at sea in a storm.
And then … we were all blessed.
Thank you all – corporeal and … not.
You took the risk and took to the streets in your finery.
You all looked amazing and lots of you even amazinger.
The atmosphere was gentle and wild, delirious and sometimes misty-eyed, loud and proud
and when Tas Nadelik held you all in silence down by the sea – feeling the fulcrum of the earth slowly turn – it was spell-binding.
Thank you all … Montol.
Thank you to the Raffidy Dumitz Band and Tom and their guests the Kelliwik Golowi Band – you were fantastic.
Thank you to Old Ned, Penhood, Alargh du, Maw Bras and to the moonlit foal Borlowen and to their chaperones, Rachel, Charlotte, Sophie, Sam and Rebecca.
Thank you to our Mock Mayor and the Lord Lieutenant of Montol and our honoured guests.
Thank you to Pensans Morris and all their wonderful Morris sides:
Madder Mill Molly, Otter Morris, The Wad, Order of the Geep, Lodestone Border Morris with musicians from Dartmoor Morris and dancers from Grimspound!
And a special thank you to the Ceremony of the Sun – who had to overcome so much to put on their best show ever!
Thank you Kelsey and the Carol Rousers for leading us in song.
Thank you to the Cornmarket Revellers and the Egyptians and all our other wonderful Guilds.
Thank you to all the fabulous visitors from across the country – please do come again.
And not forgetting our friends the fabulous fire-dancers and stunning stilt-walkers.
And thanks to Lesley who made sure we all behaved and to Mike and Kev, to Devon and Cornwall 4X4 and Coast 2 Coast for keeping us all safe and to Simon our pyrotechnician who made it feel like we weren’t.
Thank you to Penzance Council, Feast Cornwall and especially to you who gave so much to our Crowdfunder – we couldn’t have done it without you.
Thank you Penzance
You danced us into legend.
And one last thank you to Ian Mayou for the photo
